Hawksmoor Edinburgh Wedding at The Tellers’ Room | Andrew & Lucy
Planning a Hawksmoor Edinburgh wedding and searching for inspiration? Andrew and Lucy’s relaxed city celebration began with a heartfelt ceremony at Edinburgh City Chambers before continuing to an intimate reception in The Tellers’ Room at Hawksmoor Edinburgh on Saint Andrew’s Square. Their day is a perfect example of why Hawksmoor Edinburgh is one of the most stylish and experience-led wedding reception venues in the city.
As an Edinburgh Wedding photographer. I document a lot of weddings in the heart of the city and each wedding celebration feels refined, atmospheric, and completely personal. If you are considering a Hawksmoor Edinburgh wedding, here is exactly why this venue works so beautifully.
A City Centre Ceremony at Edinburgh City Chambers
Many couples planning a Hawksmoor Edinburgh wedding choose to marry at Edinburgh City Chambers due to its central location and historic character. Situated just off the Royal Mile, it offers architectural elegance without overwhelming formality.
The ceremony rooms are bright and classic. Outside, the cobbled streets and Old Town skyline create instantly iconic portrait locations. For Andrew and Lucy, this meant we could step straight from their ceremony into timeless city photographs without complicated travel or time pressure.
From a logistical perspective, hosting your ceremony at Edinburgh City Chambers pairs seamlessly with a Hawksmoor Edinburgh wedding reception. Everything remains within the city centre, allowing your day to flow naturally from vows to celebration.
When couples search for a Hawksmoor Edinburgh wedding, they are usually looking for three things: atmosphere, exceptional food, and an intimate yet elevated setting. The Tellers’ Room delivers on all three.
The Tellers’ Room at Hawksmoor Edinburgh
The Tellers’ Room is a private dining space within Hawksmoor Edinburgh on Saint Andrew’s Square. Set inside a former banking hall, the room is rich in heritage detail with warm wood panelling, soft lighting, and an inviting sense of exclusivity.
For weddings, this space feels intentional rather than expansive. It suits smaller to mid sized guest lists perfectly and creates an environment where speeches feel meaningful and conversation flows easily.
From a photography perspective, a Hawksmoor Edinburgh wedding in The Tellers’ Room is a dream. The candlelight and warm tones create depth and softness, resulting in images that feel editorial and timeless rather than trend driven.
Exceptional Dining for a Guest Focused Celebration
One of the defining features of a Hawksmoor Edinburgh wedding is the dining experience. Hawksmoor is renowned for its steak and seafood, and couples who choose this venue often prioritise quality hospitality.
Andrew and Lucy wanted their reception to feel like an elevated dinner party. Guests enjoyed beautifully prepared courses in a relaxed but refined setting. The result was an atmosphere that felt generous and welcoming.
If guest experience matters deeply to you, a Hawksmoor Edinburgh wedding reception ensures your food is a highlight of the day rather than an afterthought.
The Advantage of a Saint Andrew’s Square Location
Location plays a significant role in why a Hawksmoor Edinburgh wedding works so well. Saint Andrew’s Square offers Georgian architecture, central hotels, and easy transport access.
After their ceremony at Edinburgh City Chambers, Andrew and Lucy’s guests travelled effortlessly to Hawksmoor Edinburgh. Many chose to walk through the city, which added to the sense of occasion.
Keeping both ceremony and reception venues within central Edinburgh simplifies planning and enhances the overall experience for destination guests. It also allows more time for relaxed portraits and genuine moments rather than extended transfers. Your guests also have the convenience of walking to any city center hotel (many of the best ones are within a few minutes walk from this wedding venue) or can easily head to another cocktail bar or pub to keep the celebration going late into the night.
Planning a Hawksmoor Edinburgh Wedding
If you are actively planning a Hawksmoor Edinburgh wedding, here are a few practical considerations:
- The Tellers’ Room is ideal for intimate and mid sized weddings
- The warm interior makes autumn and winter celebrations especially atmospheric
- The private dining format suits couples who value conversation and connection
- Central Edinburgh locations allow for seamless timelines
- The heritage interior photographs beautifully in low light
Couples who choose Hawksmoor Edinburgh often want a wedding that feels sophisticated but not overly formal. The venue supports that balance effortlessly.
Andrew and Lucy’s Editorial City Celebration
Andrew and Lucy’s Hawksmoor Edinburgh wedding felt cohesive from start to finish. Historic Old Town stone in the morning gave way to candlelit warmth in the evening. Their choices reflected intention over extravagance.
During speeches in The Tellers’ Room, there was laughter, loving smiles and hands squeezed beneath the table. The space encouraged intimacy. No cavernous ballrooms. No distractions. Just atmosphere and connection. This is what makes a Hawksmoor Edinburgh wedding stand out. The setting shapes the energy of the room. It invites closeness and elevates the experience without overpowering it.
A Hawksmoor Edinburgh wedding is an exceptional choice if you value Intimate and atmospheric reception spaces, High quality dining and hospitality, Central Edinburgh convenience, Historic architecture with warmth and character, with a beautiful backdrop for Editorial, candlelit photography.
Andrew and Lucy’s celebration is proof that you don’t need excess to create impact. With the right setting and thoughtful planning, a Hawksmoor wedding offers style, substance, and a guest experience that feels truly memorable. If you are planning your own Hawksmoor wedding in Edinburgh and envision a refined city celebration filled with warmth and meaning in the center of Edinburgh, this venue would be such a lovely choice.

Lecropt Kirk Bridge of Allan Wedding | Kirkstyle Inn Dunning Wedding Reception | Edinburgh Wedding Photographer
An intimate wedding ceremony at Lecropt Kirk in Bridge of Allan, Scotland | The Kirkstyle Inn Dunning Wedding Reception | Edinburgh Wedding Photographer
Sophie and Jake had a beautiful wedding day at Lecropt Kirk in Bridge of Allan and The Kirkstyle INn in Dunning. They started their wedding day by having an intimate ceremony at the historic Lecropt Kirk in bridge of Allan, Scotland. Jake arrived early to greet their loved ones and then waited at the front of the aisle for Sophie’s Arrival. Sophie was absolutely stunning, in her vintage inspired reformation silk dress, along with her stunning makeup done by Claire Nisbet, and her beautiful bouquet by Stunning Flowers. the intimate ceremony involved singing their favorite hymns, an exchanging of rings, tunes on the trumpet by their talented friend Stephanie Kennedy and beautiful words by their pastor.
After the ceremony, the couple’s lined up for a confetti toss. Sophie and Jake hugged their loved and took a few family portraits before sending them on their way to The Kirkstyle Inn in Dunning, to enjoy drinks and canapes and await their arrival while they stayed behing for wedding portraits at Lecropt Kirk. The property is so still and quiet, that it was a nice chance for the couple to spend a little time together strolling around before going and joining all of their guests at The Kirkstyle. We even went into the Lecropt Kirk Chapel after everyone left for some intimate couple portraits in the quiet sanctuary. We then made our way through the countryside as we drove up to The Kirkstyle Inn.
I was able to arrive a little bit earlier, so the couple could have some alone time and I could scout out the best angles to capture the couple arriving at the Kirkstyle Inn and to let all of the guests know to line up outside for their arrival. They had a timeless scottish entrance with a bagpiper and drummer walking them up to their wedding reception. They were led down the streets of this tiny village in a mini parade of just the two of them as they walked up to their loved one with open arms as they all greeted the newlyweds!
The rest of the evening was in three parts at The Kirkstyle Inn. First, they all had drinks in the outdoor garden on the river, just outside of the main historic building, where both the bride and groom, along with their loved ones made speeches. Then everyone headed inside and upstairs to the private dining area, where a long table was decorated with beautiful florals, candles and white tablecloth. A beautiful juxtaposition to the walls, which were colorful and filled with historic knickknacks and trinkets from all over scotland. The menu was a mix of fine dining with an elevated pub dinner course, which is exactly what the couple wanted. This Pub is already a place I want to go back to and try more on the menu, because I can testify to how delicious the food was.
After the intimate candlelit dinner upstairs, they had a live band playing while everyone danced the night away back in the outdoor garden area. Overall, the Kirkstyle Inn was the loveliest place for this wedding day to be celebrated with their loved ones, over a delicious meal, lots of dancing and lots of love in this little scottish village of Dunning. What a beautiful and memorable scottish wedding day this was! x
“The Lecropt Kirk in Bridge of Allan was so lovely for an intimate wedding reception and the Kirkstyle inn in dunning was the perfect pub for an intimate wedding dinner.”

Chicago Cultural Center Wedding | Rachel and Joe | Downtown Chicago Wedding Photographer
Chicago Cultural Center Wedding | Rachel and Joe | Downtown Chicago Wedding Photographer
Rachel and Joe had their wedding ceremony and wedding reception at the historic Chicago Cultural Center in Downtown Chicago. The couple met at The University of CHicago, so it only made sense that they were married in such a special place to them both. I absolutely loved documenting this wedding day on both 35mm film and digital formats.
The Chicago Cultural Center is truly such a beautiful historic landmark in the heart of downtown chicago. It was opened in the 1800’s and located just across the street from Millennium park and off of Michigan avenue. The Chicago Cultural center not only holds many exhibits, with free admission, but they also have many spaces that are perfect for wedding days. The two main spaces for wedding ceremonies or receptions there are in the G.A.R. Hall and Rotunda or the Preston Bradley Hall’s Tiffany dome. And of course, endless corridors and stairwells of beautiful tiling, stained glass windows and ornate details throughout the entire building, which are a perfect backrdrop for bridal or wedding portraits.
Rachel started her wedding day getting ready with friends and close family at The Pendry Hotel, which is just a few blocks north of The Chicago Cultural Center on Michigan avenue. Rachel’s wedding dress and veil were from the incredibly talented dress designer, Danielle Frankel. Her wedding shoes were vintage from American duchess and had a beautiful nod to the historic time period of the building they were married in. Rachel also had some of the best wedding Hair and wedding Makeup artists in Chicago do her hair and makeup, Shannon O’Brien and Megan Schnell. Joe also had a custom suit made from Bode, an incredible designer based in New York City.
They had a first look at the hotel and then joined all of their friends in the lobby of the hotel to walk down Michigan avenue towards the wedding venue. Once The couple arrived at The Chicago Cultural Center, I photographed the bridal party on the entrance staircase both outside and inside the lobby by the welcome center. After thee bridal party headed up to the bridal room, where everyone was tucked away before the ceremony began, I strolled through the Chicago Cultural Center with Rachel and Joe for their wedding portraits.
For the entire ceremony and reception decor setup, Cygnet Events and Design executed all of the wedding planning and design work, with the guidance of Rachel’s impeccable taste through her mood boards. The Cremony was draped with deep red cloths, vivid red roses and lots of candles and dark ribbons to create a romantic backdrop. Rachel actually came up with the theme that was called “Gloopy Bacchanal”, which focused on surrealism, whimsy and romance. Rachel, as she is an architect, was able to fully design the lace pattern of their custom chuppah that they were married under and said their vows under during their wedding ceremony. Rachel also had her rabbi from her childhood hometown, who her family is close to and she has known her whole life, travel up from Georgia to marry them in chicago.
After the ceremony, they had a stunning cocktail hour overlooking chicago. I love when all of the family and bridal portraits are taken before the cocktail hour, so the bride and groom can fully enjoy their guests and just let everyone hug them and congratulate them and be fully present with their wedding guests with a drink in hand. While the Cygnet Events team, The florists from bottles and Bouquets, along with the caterers at paramount events and the rentals team at arcana vintage rentals turned the grand upstairs hall into the wedding reception and dance floor space, the guests were slowly escorted back into the hall for dinner.
Rachel and Joe had their cake cutting in the middle of the dance floor, followed by their first dance and speeches while the dinner courses started coming to all of the tables. For their dessert table, They had an epic display of multiple wedding cakes of all shapes and sizes and different designs, that matched their romantic theme of ribbons, florals and vintage icing designs. All of the cakes were designed and baked by Sugar Fixe in CHicago. To end the wedding day, rachel and joe danced to the tunes of one of chicago’s best DJ’s, Matt ROan, with all of their closest friends and family members in the middle of one of the most beautiful historic buildings in all of downtown chicago. This wedding day was so beautiful and I’m so honored to have been able to photograph all of the lovely memories from their wedding day for these two lovely and creative soulmates.

A Nobu Hotel Wedding Chicago & Gibson’s Italia Wedding to Remember
As someone who has been a Chicago wedding photographer for around a decade, there are certain days that stay with you forever and Danica and Jarrad’s wedding day at Nobu Hotel and Gibson’s Italia was one of them. From their morning preparations at the Nobu Hotel in the west loop to their private ceremony and reception at Gibson’s Italia, that overlooked downtown Chicago, every moment was filled with love, laughter, and breathtaking views of the city.
And If you are looking for more Chicago luxury wedding venues in Downtown Chicago with Skyline views, you can explore more inspiration Here and here.
Morning Magic: Getting Ready at Nobu Hotel
I arrived at the West Loop Chicago wedding hotel suites at Nobu Hotel to find Danica and Jarrad in separate suites, each perfectly styled with panoramic views of downtown Chicago. Inside of their Chicago wedding weekend hotel, Danica radiated elegance in her Alex Perry gown paired with Amina Muaddi heels, her makeup and hair flawless thanks to Kelsey Altmann and Leslie Hoffman. Jarrad looked effortlessly cool in his sleek, fitted tux from The Black Tux, completing his look with a stunning ring from Ren Private Jewelers, who is honestly one of the best jewelers in all of Chicago.
Capturing the anticipation, laughter, and quiet moments before their ceremony was an absolute dream. The natural light pouring through the floor-to-ceiling windows created the perfect setting for timeless, editorial-style photographs. Nobu Hotel is one of my favorite West Loop wedding hotels for couples wanting a modern, editorial aesthetic in Chicago.
Ceremony and Reception with Skyline Views at Gibson’s Italia
After their morning at Nobu Hotel, we headed to Gibson’s Italia, where Danica and Jarrad’s wedding truly came alive. They booked The Rooftop, a private floor that overlooks the Chicago River and downtown skyline. With a retractable roof, cozy fireplace, and stylish lounge furniture, the space was both luxurious and intimate, a perfect fit for this couple’s vision.
Their ceremony (and entire day) was flawlessly planned and executed by Bridget Mary Weddings, with lush floral arrangements by Thistle and Plume that complemented and framed the chic, city-view space. Watching them exchange vows against the backdrop of the city skyline was one of the most photogenic moments of my career in Chicago.
Not only is the lighting perfect for natural light portrait photography from every angle, but if you have any guests travelling into Chicago for your wedding day, Gibson’s Italia really has the best view of the city from their private rooftop room. Even the rain that happened a bit later on this wedding day, was so lovely to see on the ceiling windows and only made the evening part of their wedding day more romantic, and of course it didn’t affect the beautiful views of Downtown Chicago.
Cocktail Hour and Reception Highlights
Guests mingled during the cocktail hour while enjoying the curated menu by Gibson’s Italia. As the evening progressed, DJ One Chance and saxophonist DG Sax filled the room with energy, keeping everyone dancing late into the night. I had so much fun capturing spontaneous moments, the laughter, the joy, and those quiet glances between Danica and Jarrad that only a couple in love shares.
Why This Wedding Day Was Truly Special
From the Nobu Hotel wedding morning in Chicago to the spectacular Gibson’s Italia wedding evening, every detail of Danica and Jarrad’s day was intentional and luxurious. As their photographer, I was honored to capture moments that reflected their personalities, their style, and their love for one another.
Whether you are dreaming of Downtown Chicago skyline views, elegant suites overlooking the Chicago River, or a private reception with panoramic city vistas, this wedding showcases why both Nobu Hotel and Gibson’s Italia are top choices for Chicago couples seeking a modern, luxury celebration. x

Why Nobu Hotel Is One of the Best Chicago Wedding Hotels
As a Chicago wedding photographer, I’ve photographed getting-ready moments in countless hotels across the city, and Nobu Hotel consistently stands out as one of the best Chicago wedding hotels for couples planning a luxury celebration. Located in the heart of the West Loop, Nobu combines refined design with a calm, elevated atmosphere that feels intentional from the moment you walk in.
For couples searching for West Loop wedding inspiration, Nobu Hotel offers something incredibly rare. The suites feel spacious and serene while still showcasing sweeping views of downtown Chicago. Floor-to-ceiling windows allow natural light to pour in throughout the morning, creating ideal conditions for editorial-style portraits, detail shots, and candid moments with your wedding party. From a photography standpoint, the clean lines, neutral palette, and modern textures ensure that images feel timeless rather than trendy.
A Nobu Hotel wedding Chicago experience also offers ease. Having both partners get ready on-site keeps the timeline smooth and stress-free, especially when transitioning to a downtown Chicago ceremony and reception. Danica and Jarrad were able to fully relax into their morning, sharing meaningful moments with their closest people while the city buzzed quietly below them.
If you are planning a Chicago wedding and want a wedding hotel that elevates your experience visually and emotionally, Nobu Hotel is an exceptional choice. It is perfect for couples who value intentional design, seamless logistics, and a luxury setting that photographs beautifully from every angle.
Why Gibson’s Italia Is a Top Chicago River Wedding Venue
for both a Ceremony and Reception
When couples ask me for recommendations for Chicago luxury wedding venues, Gibson’s Italia is always at the top of my list. There are very few venues that allow you to host your ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and dancing all in one space while still feeling dynamic, elevated, and distinctly Chicago. A Gibson’s Italia wedding delivers exactly that.
Set directly along the Chicago River, Gibson’s Italia offers panoramic skyline views that feel iconic without being overwhelming. Danica and Jarrad chose The Rooftop, a private floor designed for hosting unforgettable events. With a retractable roof, fireplace for cooler months, stylish lounge seating, and state-of-the-art audiovisual capabilities, the space adapts seamlessly to every part of the wedding day. From a photographer’s perspective, this flexibility is invaluable.
Hosting both the ceremony and reception in one venue keeps the day flowing naturally. Guests remain engaged, transitions feel effortless, and there is more time for meaningful moments instead of travel. As daylight fades into evening, the glow of the city reflects off the river, creating an atmosphere that feels cinematic and intimate all at once.
What truly elevates a Gibson’s Italia wedding ceremony and reception is the guest experience. The dedicated staff, exceptional cuisine, and thoughtful service allow couples to be fully present while knowing every detail is handled with care. Whether you are envisioning a modern rooftop ceremony, an elegant cocktail hour overlooking the river, or a high-energy reception with downtown Chicago as your backdrop, Gibson’s Italia delivers at every level.
For couples dreaming of a refined, unforgettable celebration, Gibson’s Italia is one of the most stunning Chicago river wedding venues available. It is the kind of space that enhances every emotion and every photograph, making it an incredible choice for a wedding day that feels both luxurious and deeply personal.

** Read this if you want to have your wedding here // The ownership of this property is in the process of being transferred to vernon hills from loyola by January 2026, so as a bride, I would wait until the new property ownership is settled before inquiring for your wedding day. the Vernon HIlls village board mentions that it should resolve by the closing on January 9th, 2026, and even then, waiting until they figure out how the management and staffing will be done after the ownership is established. They still plan on preserving the mansion for the community, so the building and gardens will still exist, it’s just waiting to see who to contact about renting this mansion for your wedding day in the future. Watch this Vernon HIlls Board Meeting to listen to the details of the ownership transfer, specifically from minutes 2-17. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9WjDEB7O5NI and here are some emails on the vernon hills website for asking any questions on a timeline for when they think the mansion will be ready for any renting out for events in the future https://www.vernonhills.org/Directory.aspx?DID=7 **
CUNEO MANSION IS A historic wedding venue just north of Chicago.
Sam and Adam were married in the beautiful, historic cuneo mansion and gardens. This mansion in Vernon Hills is designed in a Mediterranean style and features a stunning formal dining room with paintings on the ceiling and ornate historic details and windows throughout, a grand central hall that feels like a castle and a quaint private chapel. The mansion interior is filled with a collection of antique furniture, Renaissance paintings, historic tapestries and a lot of silver and porcelain objects that have remained within the mansion since the early 1900’s. Cuneo mansion was built in 1914 and was designed by architect Benjamin Marshall of Marshall & Fox, an architectural firm based in Chicago. He also designed a handful of other iconic chicago buildings like The Drake Hotel downtown, and THe Blackstone Hotel on Michigan Avenue. Cuneo Mansion was also the location of my best friends wedding, and that is just a sweet film to have your wedding day shared with.
sam started her wedding day morning getting ready with her best friends and family members and then arrived early at the mansion to have a few solo bridal portraits in the historic halls before having a first look with adam, at the mansion entrance. They decided to have their family photos and bridal party portraits ahead of their wedding ceremony, so that afterwards they could just head to the cocktail hour to spend the full time with all of their loved ones. Thier wedding ceremony was outside in the cuneo mansion gardens. It is a lovely space, that includes a pool, historic pillars and beautiful florals.
CUNEO MANSION and Gardens would be the perfect wedding venue for you if you love historical homes, unique archiTeCture and artful interiors.
After the ceremony, with the lovely soft pink Cuneo Mansion in the background, they had their cocktail hour on the back terrace of the mansion with musicians, a champagne tower, plated hors d'oeuvres and lots of catching up with everyone. During this time are some of the loveliest moments captured of really excited emotions as everyone is hugging the bride and groom for the first time after saying I do.
After cocktail hour on the Cuneo Mansion Garden terrace, everyone headed into the grand dining room where there was one long table that was covered in candles for every wedding guest to sit around together. It was such a magical and romantic setting for their wedding dinner. After the dinner there was a live band in the central hall for endless dancing and a designer making permanent jewelry for all of the guests. Again, I always say how I’m not the best writer, but I truly feel like you’ll be able to feel how sweet the atmosphere was on this wedding day by perusing the images below. Barnbougle Castle Wedding Day | Rosebery Venues | Katie & Casey | Scottish Castle Venue near Edinburgh, Scotland | Edinburgh Wedding Photographer
Barnbougle Castle Wedding Day | Rosebery Venues | Katie & Casey | Scottish Castle Venue near Edinburgh, Scotland | Edinburgh Wedding Photographer
Katie and Casey were married in the beautiful Barnbougle Castle. They both flew, with all of their favorite loved ones, flew over from america to getting married in the beautiful seaside scottish castle, Barnbougle Castle. Barnbougle castle is located just outside of Edinburgh, and katie had previously been before and really felt a strong bond to scotland and found barnbougle to be the perfect venue to start their next chapter together.
I spent the morning with Katie and her sweet bridesmaids at the Glasshouse Hotel in the heart of Edinburgh, where they had breakfast, a first look with her dad and then hair and makeup done by AMM. The lovely doorman at The Glasshouse held an umbrella over Katie as she walked to her hired car to make sure she wasn’t soaked by the rain for her first look. We arrive to the Edinburgh City Chambers courtyard, where Casey was waiting for Katie to walk up to him. They embraced and we strolled around the royal mile and around the courtyard behind St. Giles cathedral to get a few bridal portraits in the old town area of Edinburgh before we took a taxi about 15 minutes outside of the city center, until we reached the countryside, where Barnbougle awaited us.
When we pulled up to Barnbougle Castle, a scottish man in a kilt greeted the bride and groom with memorable scottish tunes on the bagpipe. The couple were able to enjoy the entire castle to themselves for a bit while we strolled around for photos with the firth of forth waterfront view and edinburgh in the distance. After some moments taking in the entire castle alone with each other, they had their families come and join them 30 minutes before they told the guests to arrive for them to take family portraits before their ceremony.
The Bagpiper was at the entrance of Barnbougle Castle to greet all of their guests as they arrived in two red double decker buses. Once the guests were seated the beautiful ceremony started in the downstairs library with windows that overlooked the water. They had their friend officiate the wedding ceremony and of course they wantd to do the traditional scottish drinking of the quaich. overall, their wedding ceremony at Barnbougle Castle was surrounded by scottish Heritage.
After the ceremony, all of the guests went to the back of Barnbougle and had a cocktail hour on the Terrace. There were oysters (wild Thyme does such an amazing job of catering!), an open bar and lots of hugs and selfies taken. I love when the couple take portraits beforehand, so they were freely able to just enjoy the entire cocktail hour with their friends and family after the wedding ceremony.
They were able to pop upstairs for a few minutes to have a drink in private, refresh and to see the dining hall before the guests were invited upstairs to the grand ballroom. The couple had a grand entrance to the dining hall, with of course the scottish bagpiper once again leading the way with his music from the balcony. The rest of the evening was filled with dancing with their live band, WooHoo Band, a very entertaining ceilidh dance, lots of laughter and surprise fireworks from the back of barnbougle castle shooting over the water for all of their guests to remember such a magical wedding day in scotland.

Dumfries House Wedding | A Romantic Scottish Estate Wedding Day for Bethany & James | Edinburgh Wedding Photographer
Dumfries House and Estate Wedding | A Romantic Scottish Estate Wedding Day for Bethany & James | Edinburgh Wedding Photographer
Bethany and James started and ended their wedding day at The beautiful Dumfries House and Estate in Scotland. The Dumfries House and estate is an 18th century home that has had all of it’s architecture and gardens all recently restored. This historic home has had so many historic features be preserved and would be a perfect wedding venue, if you’re looking for a stunning scottish estate, located just outside of glasgow, Scotland.
Bethany and her bridesmaids got ready upstairs in stunning suites overlooking the dumfries front garden and fountain, while having their hair and makeup done by the talented ladies, Alexandria McNairn, Karly Oneill , and Chapter Salon. The groom, James, had champagne with his groomsmen on the front grand staircase of Dumfries house, just before vintage cars transported all of the bridal party to St. Aloysius RC Church in Glasgow, for their wedding ceremony. The girls followed suit shortly after Bethany had a first look with her dad and he walked her down to the rolls royce that drove her to the wedding ceremony.
James is a talented musician and specializes in all things relating to organs, and St. Aloysius RC Church had such a stunning one. They also had such beautiful traditions that were meaningful to them both in their religion during their ceremony. After the wedding ceremony, Bethany and James hopped back in the Rolls Royce and were driven to the walled garden of the Dumfries House and Estate for bridal portraits. The lovely thing about The Dumfries House, is that the Estate is so large, that everyone’s bridal portraits will look so different, as there are so many locations and lovely backdrops for wedding photos all around the 2,000 acre estate in Ayrshire.
After strolling around the walled garden for couples photos, the vintage car took them back to the front entrance of the Dumfries House, where all of their wedding guests were waiting for them with confetti and a bagpiper led the way as they strolled up the staircase surrounded by their loved ones. The rest of cocktail hour overflowed with Hors d'oeuvre’s and cocktails on the stairs and in the garden, while inside of Dumfries House there was a live band, Babyface and the Beltin' Boys, playing in the entrance hall, while guests were enjoying oysters by the oyster man and enjoying the beautiful spaces in dumfries house, like The Great Steward’s Dining Room, The Tapestry Room and The Pink Drawing Room.
After taking a few wedding portraits in The Tapestry Room, which has stunning ornate floor to ceiling tapestries and murals throughout the entire space, the couple made a grand entrance into the pavilion, where the formal seated dinner and wedding reception took place. There was a bar, a champagne tower, cake cutting, speeches, and an incredibly fun night of ceilidh dancing took place, hosted by DRAMS! Ceilidh Band. All in all, this wedding day at Dumfries House was so lovely and the perfect wedding venue for Bethany and james to celebrate their wedding day with all of their loved ones in the heart of their home, in scotland.

I was so excited for this wedding day at dundas castle! when APhril and graham decided to have their destination wedding in scotland, I knew it was going to be a fun time, but then learning that it was at dundas castle, I knew right then that they had the best taste and it was going to be a stunning wedding day, but also a solid party! Although, this was more of a destination wedding for APhril, as she and her family are all from the los angeles area, whereas graham was born and raised in Scotland. though he now lives in LA, which is where he met his bride, aphril.

Dundas CastlE has so many rooms to get ready in and all of them are stunning with historical furniture and features displayed throughout. the owners actually live in a part of the estate still, in a private wing, so you can see a few family portraits in the library and living rooms. Aphril choose to get ready in a stunning room with two large windows overlooking the front courtyard of the castle entrance. It was joined to another room that was a beautiful shade of mint, and that is where her dress was hung up, so it wasn’t in the line of makeup while the bridal party was getting ready.
After the bridesmaids were ready, they all helped aphril put her dress on and button her many buttons on the back of her stunning wedding dress by rita vinieris. They held her dress as aphril walked down the grand staircase to head to the wedding ceremony. Her dad met her at the bottom of the stairs to walk her all of the way out of the castle and down the aisle.
The wedding ceremony took place in the tower within the castle. You did have to exit the main dundas castle building and walk through a quaint courtyard garden and then into the tower and up a few flights of a spiral staircase, but it all felt very fairytale-esque. Think, rapunzel barbara, from wild flower workshop, created the most beautiful floral installations at the front of the ceremony space on podiums as well as in the tower walls. Aphril’s wedding bouquet was also an artistic piece of work in and of itself. The staff of the castle rang the tower bell to announce the bride was on her way, as all of the guests were fully packed into the chairs and balcony area of the tower hall. as aphril’s dad walked her down the aisle, graham was so full of emotion and it was the sweetest thing to witness. The kids had bubble guns and an owl flew the rings to the bride’s brother. Overall, a wedding ceremony at dundas castle is a completely unique and customizable experience and one that is forever a memorable story for everyone to tell.
The wedding ceremony took place at the top of a tower in dundas castle
After the wedding ceremony, the bride and groom made their way to the rooftop of the tower for a few couple portraits overlooking the bridges and water of south queensferry, while the wedding guests headed back to the main castle building for cocktail hour. After the wedding portraits the bride and groom had some time alone to themselves before being announced down the grand staircase in front of all of their wedding guests to join them for the rest of the cocktail hour. There were a few speeches at the stairs, a cake cutting with a sword and plenty of shots taken, hugs given and selfies photographed for the next hour before the wedding reception.
Dundas castle has the perfect courtyard for a sunny cocktail hour
There were two scottish bagpipers that led the bride and groom into the pavilion just outside of the castle for a sit down wedding meal, and later that is where the dancing would take place as well. A lot of Irn bru was had, more speeches with tears and laughter and then a delicious meal by the catering team from heritage portfolio. The dessert was a beautiful lavender color that matched the bright wedding bouquet centerpieces from wild flower workshop. Once the dancing began, it was easy for the dance floor to be filled with wedding guests as the jammy devils were just that good! Everyone was instantly out of their seats and having the best time on the dance floor. The party went late into the night where the groom, who is a part of the scottish house mafia DJ Trio, were able to DJ with his friends. You know it’s a good day when the dancing never ends, in the best way possible. unforgettable memories were made all day long, and that is the best kind of destination wedding day. And Dundas castle estate was the perfect location for such a special day in their lives. x

The Tythe Barn Launton Wedding Day | A Beautiful Countryside Wedding Venue in Oxfordshire, England | Oxford Wedding Photographer
THe Tythe Barn Launton Wedding Day | A beautiful countryside wedding Venue in oxfordShire, England | OXFORD Wedding Photographer
Courtney and Neil fell in love and had a beautiful wedding day at the tythe barn launton in the oxfordshire countryside, just outside of london. The tythe barn is a lovely venue as it has modern amenities set in historic buildings with lovely architecture. There is a stunning farmhouse that was renovated in the 17th century, where you and your bridal party can stay at the night before and after the wedding day. There is a tennis court, a hot tub, beautiful gardens and plenty of living spaces for your loved ones to relax around your wedding day. Also, with the tythe barn being so close to london as well, if you have wedding guests flying in, it’s a close enough drive to the city or you can easily get public transport or a cab from a larger nearby city like Oxford, England.
The day started with a little mist in the air, which of course as they say “rain brings luck on a wedding day”, and thankfully courtney and neil were the perfect example of a couple that didn’t let a little bit of water affect the mood of the day. They still were up for walking around the gardens with umbrellas and the rain even let up a bit for them to stroll around without the umbrellas as well, and the rain made the sidewalks glisten and romantic, which wouldn’t have been the case if it was a dry and sunny day. The guests were also happy to have umbrellas outside for the cocktail hour in the courtyard of the tythe barn. Overall, this wedding day was made more exciting by everyone stepping outside for the breaks in the rain. All in all, everyone was there to celebrate their love and that was what happened all day long.
“we Photographed courtney and Neil’s wedding day at THe Tythe barn launton on both digital and film cameras, 35mm and medium format.”
the tythe barn is the kind of wedding venue that has so many indoor spaces for the bar, cocktail hour and dinner and dancing area, that you don’t have to be outdoors if you don’t want to be. And the interior of the the tythe barn has many floor to ceiling windows looking into the courtyard gardens, so there is plenty of natural, yet moody light indoors, as well as a lovely view to the greenery in the gardens. Courtney got ready in the largest room at the top of the tythe barn farmhouse, which overlooked the tennis court and garden. Her wedding dress was by the designer Alexandra Grecco, her makeup was done by Frankie Calver and her hair was styled by the talented Sally-Kate Duboux.
Courtney’s dad walked with her over to the ceremony in the main barn hall where neil saw her for the first time in her wedding dress. Tanya Lee Sutton did an amazing job on the romantic florals that lined the ceremony aisle down to a cluster of candles where courtney and neil said their vows and became husband and wife. My husband and I photographed both digital and film photos for courtney and neil’s wedding day, and below’s wedding blog post is a mix of both film and digital wedding captures. After the portraits in the garden the rain cleared again and the couple were able to enjoy drinks in the courtyard before sitting down to dinner, and again for coffee in the courtyard before dancing. Then later into the night, after the cake cutting and nonstop dancing with the disco ball overhead commenced, late night pizza was served from an open fire pizza oven.
Overall, from looking at the expressions of joy, laughter and love from this wedding day at The Tythe Barn Launton, you can tell that the weather only enforced what everyone knew to be true, and that’s courtney’s and neil’s love for each other was a celebration that will be remembered by everyone for a lifetime. x

Royal College of Physicians Intimate Wedding Day in Edinburgh, Scotland | Edinburgh Wedding Photography
Royal College of Physicians Intimate Wedding Day in Edinburgh, Scotland | Edinburgh Wedding Photographer | DEstination Wedding Photographer
Myranda and paul had the most beautiful, intimate wedding day in Edinburgh, Scotland. The ROyal COllege of Physicians was the main venue for their wedding day, and they had the earlier parts of their wedding scattered all over the beautiful scenes of Edinburgh. Which Jamie, of timeless white, planned the whole day out perfectly, honestly, It was one of those days that just flowed along beautifully, and I think a lot of it was his organization skills, which I really appreciate as a wedding photographer.
First, after getting ready at a flat in New town, Myranda walked over in the lovely rainy weather of scotland, that stopped just before she arrived for her first look underneath edinburgh castle. PauL was waiting for her by standing in front of the ross fountain in princes garden, while he gazed at the castle. It honestly is such a lovely spot for a first look, and the gardens are large enough that you can always find a quiet corner to have an intimate moment for your wedding day.
After the first look, Myranda and Paul strolled through Princes Garden and throughout the royal mile in Old town. They eventually made their way over to the royal cafe to grab a drink while sitting in a corner booth and have a little breather together before heading up to calton hill for the ceremony.
The filmmaker and myself, the talented David James, headed up to calton hill to give the couple some more time to themselves at their rental and to give us time to capture all of the lovely floral installations that Gloam created for their intimate wedding ceremony. The ceremony was set up on the back of the hillside on calton hill, where arthur’s seat was the iconic backdrop. After watching one day recently, I am sure arthur’s seat will be a part of even more love stories now. It really is such a beautiful hill and so close to the city. Anyways, back to the wedding day, Myranda and Paul’s wedding guests all arrived on a double decker vintage bus to the top of the hill, and myranda’s dad walked her down the aisle while paul was waiting at the top of calton hill with the landscape of edinburgh able to be seen within a 360 view all around him.
“After the ceremony on calton hill, the wedding guests headed
over to The Royal College of Physicians in the new town neighborhood
of Edinburgh, scotland for the cocktail hour in the cullen suite
and an intimate dinneR reception in the new library.”
After the ceremony, Myranda and paul joined their wedding guests aboard the vintage bus to drive over to the royal college of physicians in the new town neighborhood of edinburgh, where the guests were having cocktails upstairs in the cullen suite. Because they already had their wedding portraits taken before the ceremony they were able to mingle and enjoy the full cocktail hour with their loved ones.
When the cocktail hour was wrapping up, the opened the doors to the New library, where one long dinner table had been decorated by the edinburgh floral stylists, GLOAm. The long table was full of tall candlesticks, florals and little disco balls The dinner table was surrounded by all of the bookshelves in the royal college of physicians, and is actually a working college and library to this day. from a wedding photographers point of view, having a balcony in the library really makes for great angles of you and your guests if you choose to have your intimate wedding day at the royal college of physicians.
another reason that you would want to get married here, is that they have such lovely caterers, such as saltire hospitality, who not only have delicious and beautiful dishes they serve, but their staff is always so helpful and friendly to work with. Of course, Jamie, of the timeless White wedding planning team, made sure that myranda and paul had a wonderful team of local wedding vendors to make this wedding day run so seamlessly.
Myranda and Paul had the amazing DJ Sam Young, who has DJ’d for “George Clooney, Idris Elba weddings, Elton John’s 60th, events for Gucci, Valentino, GQ ‘most connected men’ event”… just to name a few from his socials. So what I love about this Edinburgh wedding venue that is if you really want to work with someone they are open to it, and I love that Myranda and Paul really wanted an amazing dj, even for how intimate their micro wedding day was.
They danced the night away in the great hall, where the flashing lights of the disco ball sparkled all over the grand pillars that surrounded the room as well as all over the historic and ornate sculptures and detailed cornicing work on the ceilings. Overall, the royal college of physicians was the perfect wedding venue for this intimate wedding day in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Leanne and Ross’ wedding day in New York City was the kind of Elopement love story that feels both cinematic and deeply personal. It was a truly intentional elopement shaped by a place that they really loved, strolling around the city together, doing what matters most to them and the electric energy of a city they love. Traveling all the way from Scotland, they flew across the Atlantic to say their vows in NYC, choosing an experience that felt true to who they are rather than a traditional wedding timeline. Their day was effortless, stylish, and full of heart—proof that a low-key elopement can still feel incredibly iconic.
Leanne and Ross had the most relaxed NYC Elopement Photos
Their NYC wedding day began at the New York City Marriage Bureau, a place steeped in quiet significance. Inside the understated civic building, surrounded by other couples from all over the world, Leanne and Ross made it official. There’s something beautifully grounding about starting a marriage in such a simple, honest space—no frills, just intention. Ross wore his classic tartan trousers as a nod to his Scottish roots, a meaningful detail that stood out boldly against the urban backdrop. Leanne paired the moment with a casual satin dress, elegant yet relaxed, perfectly suited for a city elopement that prioritized connection over formality. Also, If you’re looking to get married in NYC or have your elopement at the New York City Marriage Bureau, just read more here to find out how to get married in New York City, as a visiting tourist with a passport or as a local.
Their NYC wedding day began at the New York City Marriage Bureau
Afterward, they stepped out into the streets and began wandering through SoHo, where cast-iron buildings rise above cobblestone streets and sunlight bounces off massive industrial windows. This neighborhood is a dream for any NYC elopement photographer. The textured walls, fire escapes, quiet side streets, and that effortlessly cool downtown vibe are great visuals to lean into when walking around Manhattan for your couple portraits on your wedding day. Leanne and Ross blended right into the rhythm of the city, strolling hand in hand past boutique storefronts and iconic architecture, stopping whenever a corner felt right.
From there, they made their way through Midtown Manhattan, where New York’s energy truly hums. Yellow taxis zipped by, skyscrapers towered overhead, and the unmistakable feeling of being in the center of it all set in. Midtown is chaotic in the best way, as it was a classic neighborhood (In a memorable way), recognizable NYC architecture, and full of movement of people on the streets. It’s the contrast that makes NYC elopements so special: intimate moments unfolding in one of the busiest places in the world. Though, we did actually skip over Times Square specifically.
These newlyweds strolled all over Manhattan
for their iconic NYC wedding photos
Their next stop was Central Park, an essential chapter in any New York City love story. Inside the park, the noise softened. Tree-lined paths, stone bridges, and open lawns offered a breath of calm right in the heart of Manhattan. Leanne’s satin dress caught the light as it moved in the breeze, while Ross’ tartan added a timeless, personal layer to every frame. Surrounded by nature, they laughed, wandered, and let the day unfold slowly—exactly as they’d hoped.
As evening approached, they hailed a taxi and crossed the bridge into Brooklyn, chasing the sunset. At Pebble Beach, the city revealed one of its most breathtaking views. The Manhattan skyline stretched across the water, the Brooklyn Bridge framed the scene, and the sun dipped low, casting warm light over the East River. It was quiet, romantic, and undeniably New York. It was a perfect ending to a day spent exploring.
Leanne and Ross ended their elopement day by watching the
sunset over the New York City Skyline from Pebble Beach,
in Brooklyn Bridge Park
I would love to say that I Photographed this NYC wedding day so beautifully, but honestly, it was all the very relaxed and chill Leanne and Ross, who just wanted to have a relaxed NYC elopement and wanted to have everything photographed in a documentary style way. Their NYC wedding day is just a reminder of why couples travel from all over the world to get married In New York City. From iconic landmarks to hidden corners of alleyways, from downtown grit to skyline sunsets, their day captured the full spirit of the city. For couples dreaming of an intentional, stylish, and unforgettable wedding experience, this is exactly why choosing an NYC elopement photographer, or someone like myself, who understands the flow, light, and soul of the city can really make all the difference.
If anyone is still considering have their elopement in NYC I would love to be your Wedding photographer! And If you ever need any recommendations for Documentary or cinematic style New York Wedding Photographers or NYC Elopement Photographers, I’m happy to give even more recs as well, if I’m not available! x
Paris Elopement Wedding Photography | Wedding Style at The Eiffel Tower, Palais-Royal, The Louvre and River Seine | Destination Wedding Photographer
Paris Elopement wedding Photography | wedding style at The eiffel tower, Palais-Royal, the Louvre and river Seine | Destination Wedding Photographer
An elopement wedding day in paris, France feels like something out of a movie. The beautiful streets, the historical architecture, the endless art museums and how the city lights up at night is simply magical. When I knew I was going to be speaking at LEgacy Workshop in France and then spending time in paris afterwards, I just knew I wanted to document an elopement bridal editorial in some of the most beautiful locations in paris. And of course, with my friends birthday being nearby, I offered to have her and her partner join my husband and I in Paris and I would document her and her boyfriend, while also treating them on their trip. Capturing real couples is the best for inspiring your creativity in between wedding seasons, as they already have such a natural bond. It also helps when you can simply have fun together as they are some of your closest friends.
MAggie and angus spent the morning of this elopement day editorial in their adorable and quaint airbnb in Paris. They both got ready together before we headed to the streets to enjoy roaming around paris together. I brought vintage veils along from Those were the days bridal in EDinburgh, Scotland. the lovely owner, claire, of those were the days bridal carefully curates and hand selects all of the pieces in her shop on saint stephen street in my personal favorite neighborhood in edinburgh, stockbridge. and I’m not biased just because it’s my personal neighborhood where we live, but it really is the best for small business cafes, restaurants, clothing shops, thrift stores and cinnamon buns. so if you are ever visiting edinburgh, definitely pop over to stockbridge.
anyways, back to the elopement editorial in paris. Maggie was wearing a vintage veil from those were the days and had multiple outfits throughout the day, because even on a wedding day there tend to be outfit changes more and more, so why not on your elopement day as well. The floral bouquet was designed by my friend Beverly, of Heidi GOld Florals, She was able to piece together a stunning little bouquet that packed a punch of color with a unique blend of florals in the arrangement.
The first place we took a few individual and couple photographs in the parisian neighborhood around their airbnb. If you ever have an elopement or wedding day in paris, honestly, you can’t go wrong with most residential streets all around the city, as the architecture is stunning no matter which district you are based in. And by photographing around your lodging, you can have those images that are more unique to you before heading to the classic spots in the city where inevitably you may see other couples having wedding photos done there as well.
We only saw two other brides the entire day, which I thought was fairly good for us, especially photographing bridal portraits around the eiffel tower and the louvre museum. At the eiffel tower, we started taking the elopement portraits a few blocks away from the actual tower, so it was a bit quieter to start out with the tower in the background, and then slowly walked toward the eiffel tower for a larger scene. There are actually plenty of ways to crop out the crowds, so I wouldn’t be nervous to get closer to the eiffel tower if you are ever there on your wedding day. We also found that everyone parted ways for the bride in her wedding dress.
The next stop on our tour around paris for elopement portraits, was the domaine national du palais-royal. I have always loved the courtyard that has a stunning artwork installation of striped sculptures that resemble a chess board. IT really is such a beautiful spot for wedding photos and has many corners that aren’t crowded at all for intimate moments together.
we then walked across the street to the louvre museum for more wedding portraits in front of the stunning piece of architecture, the modern grand pyramid. THe beautiful, glass pyramid is a structure that pei cobb Freed & partners created and I will Forever be impressed by such beautiful and thoughtful design. always brings back fond memories when i’m in it’s presence.
After staying at the louvre until the sun started to set, to see the pyramid lit up at night and the fountains reflection of ripples shining through, we then walked over to the seine river. I love how the seine river has many sections and a lower walkway by the river so your elopement can be a more intimate one, especially when it’s darker at night and the only light is from the parisian street lamps.
The eiffel tower has a light show in the evenings and you could see the glow of the tower between maggie and angus from the seine river walkway. It really was a magical way to end this elopement editorial with the sweetest couple of friends around. I’m truly grateful for them entrusting me to document the two of them around paris. Traveling the world alone is lovely, but even better with loved ones. x

A Sligachan Hotel Wedding Day on the remote Isle of Skye in Scotland
An Intimate Wedding Day at the sligachan hotel on the Isle of Skye in Scotland | Sligachan Hotel wedding Ceremony
and dinner Reception
Julia and Bobby flew all of the way from boston to get married at the Sligachan hotel on the isle of skye, in the highlands of scotland. the Sligachan hotel was able to accommodate all of their guests to be able to stay together, who also all traveled over from all over the United stated to witness Julia and bobby say “i do” to forever. Bobby got ready with his guys in the largest suite in the sligachan hotel’s main building, while julia got ready in a large cabin overlooking the Cuillin mountain range, just across the river from the hotel. While The lovely ladies at Bonny’s Wonderland worked on Julia’s beautiful hair and makeup that morning, the talented team of scarlet and bell, alongside the ladies at gloam, were in full designing mode with the floral arrangements and decor for the ceremony and intimate reception for later that day.
For their first look, they walked to meet in between both of their getting ready locations and met on the top of the sligachan bridge overlooking loch Sligachan with the stunning mountain range of the Cuillins framing the scene behind them. For their portraits we roamed around the land nearby the hotel, but still had the Cuillins in the backdrop, as they are just so stunning, even amidst the endless fog. it was actually raining leading up to the time when we were suppose to have the first look, but the rain stopped just in time for them to greet each other on top of sligachan bridge and then stroll for half an hour for portraits together on the isle of skye. That’s really all of the time you need for portraits, and it was perfect, as just as the ceremony was about to start the rain commenced again, but everything else was tucked away for the rest of the evening, inside the quaint sligachan hotel.
At the back of the sligachan hotel there is a restaurant called seumas’ Bar, that is where both the ceremony and reception took place. in between the two events the guests were led by a bagpiper to the front bar by the lobby of the hotel for cocktails and Hors d'oeuvres. The ladies at Gloam, alongside Mercedes of SCarlet & bell, did all of the planning and event styLing and decor. I’ve worked alongside scarlet and bell quite a bit now, and the attention for detail as well as the pleasure they are to be around, makes her and her team the loveliest wedding planners in scotland to work with, especially if you are traveling in from america, like julia and bobby were. The team at Gloam I have also had the pleasure of working with a lot and they are just gems to be around as well as so dedicated and focused on their craft. I haven’t even mentioned the creativity yet, but gloam has some of the best floral arrangements and installation designs for any space in scotland.
THe evening was filled with three long tables lined with florals and dimly lit by candlelight. THe mood of the evening was so intimate and sweet, with SPEECHES being made, a live band for everyone to learn a CEILIDH dance, as well unique games (like Biñho board) being spread about the room for those going up to the bar to mingle and partake in. Which if you know me, you know how much i LOVe board games and games in general. I definitely tried them all by the end of the night, for sure. Overall, this was a beautiful and intimate night filled with the landscape of scotland with the classiness of a candlelit intimate dinner with all of your loved ones in the highlands of scotland. A truly beautiful wedding day at the sligachan hotel.

California Clipper Chicago | Segnatore RestAurant Chicago Wedding Reception | Chicago Wedding Photographer
A chicago wedding day that ended at the California Clipper with A Segnatore Restaurant family-style Dinner Reception | Chicago Wedding Photographer
Anna and erik ended their wedding day at the iconic California clipper in chicago. Butlet’s rewind to the morning of their wedding day. These two decided to get ready together and alone at one of the lovely suites at The Chicago athletic Association hotel in downtown chicago. their suite overlooked Millennium park and michigan avenue and this hotel is centrally located in the heart of chicago.
They both enjoyed their drink of choice, Miller High life, while lounging in their room before we headed over to the art institute for wedding portraits. the art institute of chicago is one of my favorite place for portraits and it’s so large with so many wings of artwork and the lighting changes so much throughout the day that no two sessions there ever feel the same. After roaming around the art institute we hopped in a car and drove over to Segnatore Restaurant to meet up with all of the guests.
Anna and Erik had a really unique wedding day because they told their guests that this wasn’t a wedding day and that they were just inviting everyone to a nice dinner. but out of nowhere (although, of course I knew in advance), they did a surPrise ceremony by standing at the bar once all of their loved ones were seated for dinner. They exachanged vows to each other with whispers, exchanged rings and then had a first kiss in front of everyone and the cheering and tears commenced! it was truly so special for everyone, as they all knew that the couple didn’t like to be the center of attention and thought they wouldn’t get the chance to witness their wedding ceremony, but they were able to, and in the couple’s own unique way.
The wedding dinner at Segnatore restaurant was served family style. I love how intimate the wedding dinner was and the style made it really feel like a traditional italian family dinner. The chef was amazing. I wish I was better at words to describe how amazing each dish was from the starters, to the pasta, to the meat, to the dessert, but you just need to go book a table at segnatore the next time you’re looking for a dinner spot in Chicago. They also have solid mocktails as well as cocktails.
segnatore restaurant is direclty across the street from The california clipper, one of the oldest neighborhood cocktail bar in humboldt park that does a wide range of live music to DJ nights. It really is a chicago staple and the drinks and moody interior vibes are solid. So after the italian dinner all of the wedding guests walked across the street to the california clipper to listen to music and hang out late into the night. I took a few Wedding portraits of Anna and Erik under the iconic California clipper neon sign just outside of the bar before I headed out, and left these two lovebirds to go live it up with their loved ones. x
“California clipper and segnatore restaurant are directly across the street from each
other, so are perfect Wedding venues for

Islington Town Hall Wedding with an Intimate Reception at Salut Restaurant in London
Islington town Hall Wedding ceremony and an intimate Salut Restaurant reception in Islington | London Wedding Photographer
Choosing Islington Town Hall for the intimate ceremony
Dervla and Andy, both Londoners, celebrated their intimate wedding ceremony at the stunning Islington Town Hall, a popular choice for couples seeking a beautiful wedding setting. The ceremony took place in the impressive Council Room, featuring vaulted ceilings, custom wooden pews, and large stained-glass windows that added a touch of elegance. After the heartfelt ceremony, the couple and their families exited through the grand entrance, greeted by a confetti toss and captured memorable moments on the marble staircase.
Candid moments, hugs, and A confetti toss outside OF Town Hall
they had all of their family members meet them at the cafe across the street from the town hall and then everyone walked up together to the upstairs ceremony room in islington town hall. Her sisters child and Niece were the cutest flower girls. There are a lot of town and city halls that are small rooms in basements, but islington town hall has windows that really LIGHT UP the room well ,which any photographer would appreciate WHO LOVES USING NATURAL LIGHT.
They exited through the grand entrance of Islington TOwn hall where a stunning marble staircase led them from the room to the front door. After taking a few more portraits inside the various hallways and different backdrops inside of the building, they walked out TO LOTS OF HUGS by their families.
A Stroll from Town Hall to Salut! Restaurant
Following ALL OF the portraits at Islington Town Hall, the wedding party strolled through the charming London Borough of Islington, making their way to Salut! Restaurant. This modern European fine dining establishment, located just a few blocks away, provided a warm and intimate setting for the reception. Dervla and Andy's families enjoyed drinks on the sidewalk tables while eagerly anticipating the chef's culinary creations, as the couple had rented out the entire restaurant for their special day.
Salut! Restaurant, with its casual yet refined atmosphere, proved to be the perfect choice for an intimate wedding meal. The day unfolded with love, joy, and delicious food in one of their favorite neighborhoods, encapsulating the essence of Islington, London.
“Islington town hall is one of the loveliest spaces to have a beautiful wedding ceremony and Salut Restaurant is the perfect place for an intimate fine dining meal in london.”
