A Middleton Lodge Estate wedding is the kind of celebration that feels both elevated and effortless. Set within 200 acres of privately owned countryside near Richmond, Middleton Lodge is one of the most sought-after North Yorkshire wedding venues, known for its seamless blend of historic charm and contemporary design.
Rebecca began her wedding morning in the Main House at Middleton Lodge, The main bridal suite is a light-filled Georgian space that feels more like a private home than a hotel. Soft neutral tones, tall windows, and original architectural details make this one of the most beautiful getting-ready locations in North Yorkshire.
The ceremony took place outdoors beside the Garden Marquee, just steps from the Main House. With sweeping lawns and the surrounding estate as a backdrop, the setting felt intimate yet expansive. The bride had both of her brothers walk her down the aisle and it was one of the sweetest moments of the day.
Following the ceremony and the really fun confetti toss that the guests lined up to do, the bride and groom walked outside from the main house to the back garden of middleton Lodge for drinks and canapes and to give everyone hugs. They also were able to take a few family photos with their closest family members and friends before sneaking off to take a few couples photos themselves. We took a few in the front of The Main House of Middleton Lodge, as it is such an iconic estate and floral design around the front door, and then we wandered over to the walled garden and fig house for more portraits and for them to see their wedding reception space all decorated before the guests walked over as well.
Dinner was served inside The Fig House, with large windows left open to the Walled Garden. As guests ate, warm light filtered through greenery, creating a soft, atmospheric setting that felt effortlessly elegant.
Just before the evening celebrations began, Rebecca changed into a second dress, that was modern, minimal, and made for dancing. It was an easy option to change in one of the local lodgings that middleton lodge has, as most of her guests were staying on the property that night. She was able to simply walk to one of the rooms within the walled garden and walk back through the garden to the party with her closest girlfriends.
From my personal opinion and a photographer’s perspective, Middleton Lodge is one of the best wedding venues in North Yorkshire. It has a variety of spaces with natural light and a thoughtful layout that allows couples to create a wedding day that feels intentional yet relaxed.
