Jen and James started their day at The Emily Hotel, where they spent the morning with their closest family members while prepping for one of the most special days of their lives. They had their first look just outside of The Emily Hotel and then we strolled around the West Loop for their bridal portraits. When they arrived to Elske Restaurant, located in the heart of the West Loop, they spent time together with their families and just relaxing a bit before their ceremony started. At Elske, there is a lovely upstairs loft where they could watch all of their guests slowly come in before the ceremony that takes places in the downstairs courtyard. Rev Beth officiated their ceremony, and if you’re ever in the search of an officiant that can marry you and your partner anywhere in any venue and with the most thoughtful words, she is your girl.

It’s always important to have a venue that you love aesthetically and feels like you, and Elske was just the place for a beautiful outdoor ceremony, Michelin Star dinner and a solid dance party overflowing into the coutyard. Also, if you haven’t been to Elske yet or if you ever plan to visit Chicago, it’s an amazing Michelin star, James Beard finalist, Jean Banchet award winning restaurant in one of the loveliest food lover neighborhoods of Chicago, the West Loop. When you have your wedding reception at Elske, they of course do one of the best dinners from their custom seasonal menu by their kitchen.

To end the evening, Jen changed into her second party dress by Lurelly, cut their lovely cake and danced the night away to DJ Major Taylor alongside their favorite people! I just love days like this one, relaxed, chill and simply beautiful all around! x

Soho House Wedding with Vintage Style and Disco Reception | Courtney + Colin | Destination Wedding Photographer

This is one of those weddings that starts off calm and ends wild! But in the best way possible! Courtney and Colin started their wedding day getting ready at the Soho House. They signed their marriage license, drank champagne, ate chocolate chip cookies and had friends around them! Emily Katz did Courtney’s hair and Gold Dust Woman did the makeup! Courtney’s whole outfit was curated vintage and her earrings were from local designer, Cities in Dust. Our friend Alisha, was filming on a Super 8mm Camera the entire day, and it turned out stunning!
Colin is a wine sommelier at a the Bonhomme restaurant group, so all of the venues were in that talented group for their wedding day. The ceremony was held at Beatnick on the River, The intimate dinner was held on the private second floor of Mama Delia’s, and the Disco reception took place at Disco Bar. Between the ceremony, where their friend officiated for them, there was wine and walking around downtown for a few portraits. Then after the dinner, everyone started to add glitter to their makeup and everyone ubered over to the Disco Bar. Once we were there, it was endless dancing, a completely lit dance floor (both literally and figuratively), two DJ’s and lots of joy! Courtney and Colin truly had a wedding that reflected who they both were as people and their eclectic styles weren’t put in a box! I’m so honored to have captured these moments from their stylish, inspiring and party of a wedding day!
